ABSTRACT
Kepok grecek bananas are a priority horticultural commodity in East Kalimantan that contributes to food security, farmer income, and regional economic activity, yet their development is constrained by efficiency, cost, pest and disease risk, and feasibility issues. This study evaluates the financial feasibility of kepok grecek banana farming to support stakeholder policy decisions. Research was conducted from November to December 2025 in Kutai Timur, Kutai Kartanegara, and Paser Regencies using purposive sampling, involving 110 farmers from farmer groups. Methods included farm cost income analysis and investment feasibility criteria: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Benefit Cost Ratio (Net B/C), and Payback Period. Results show the enterprise generates high net income with variable costs as the dominant component. Financial indicators demonstrate strong feasibility, with an NPV of IDR 380,376,387, IRR of 51 percent, Net B/C of 4.30, and a payback period of 3 years, 9 months, and 29 days. These findings indicate that kepok grecek banana farming is financially viable and economically attractive, supporting its prioritization through policies that strengthen productivity, marketing efficiency, and sustainable pest and disease management.
